Angela B. Grau
Focusing on the legal rights of families and individuals, Angela B. Grau represents clients in guardianship actions, will contests and other fiduciary litigation matters. Bringing an impressive background to the DARS team, Angela advises clients in fiduciary and general civil litigation matters. She is also frequently appointed by the Circuit Court for Howard County to represent alleged disabled persons in guardianship matters, and has also acted as guardian for disabled adults to ensure that their property is protected.
Angela sits on the Board of Governors for the Maryland State Bar Association (MSBA) and is a member of its Litigation Section; she has also served on the MSBA’s Elder Law Section Council in the past. Angela is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) and is the Immediate Past President of the Howard County Bar Association. She is a Past-President of the Howard County Chapter of the Maryland State Women's Bar Association.
Angela was appointed by Governor Martin O’Malley to the Trial Courts Judicial Nominating Commission for Howard County, and continues to serve on that committee. She was appointed by the Court of Appeals of Maryland as a member of the Character Committee for the Third Appellate Circuit of Maryland. A frequent lecturer on fiduciary litigation and elder law issues, Angela has been invited twice to participate as an instructor at a training session for judges on issues relating to guardianship law in the state of Maryland. She also authored a chapter in the MICPEL publication "Practical Approaches to Adult Guardianship."
Angela is admitted to the Maryland Court of Appeals, the United States District Court for Maryland, and the United States Supreme Court. She has been selected by Baltimore Magazine as a Super Lawyer in the field of Estate & Trust Litigation in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011.
