Mary Beth Tung, Ph.D.
Mary Beth Tung manages intellectual property matters for DARS. Mary’s practice includes filing and prosecution of U.S. and foreign patent applications, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. She works with clients on patentability issues and freedom to operate analyses.
Mary represents a wide variety of clients, many of which include biotech, pharmaceutical, and technology companies and individuals. As a former Biotechnology Patent Examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Mary examined patents related to immunology, diagnostics, and recombinant technologies.
In addition to her legal experience, Mary was an Assistant Professor at the University of Rochester’s School of Medicine and a Postdoctoral Associate at Yale University School of Medicine in the fields of Cancers, Virology and Pharmacology. Mary is the Immediate Past Chair of the Howard Technology Council and former member of the Howard Community College Board of Trustees. She is also a member of the Maryland State Bar Association and a Member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association.
