DARS takes great pride in contributing to the communities in which its employees and clients live, work and play. DARS serves as a corporate partner for numerous nonprofit, community and charitable organizations across the region. For the principals of DARS, it is a priority to share firm resources and to lead the way as a philanthropic partner.

Additionally, DARS encourages its individual team members, at all levels, to share their time and talent to support worthwhile organizations. Whether its getting involved in an initiative or project, spear-heading a committee, or serving on an organization’s board of directors, it’s a corporate responsibility the firm takes seriously.

The following are some of the organizations in which the firm and its team members are involved:


Founded in 1992, the Howard Hospital Foundation is a private, non-profit organization entrusted to provide philanthropic support of Howard County General Hospital: A Member of Johns Hopkins Medicine. The Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees, which guides its efforts to raise and manage funds for the hospital. Through the generosity of many caring and compassionate donors, the Foundation helps Howard County General Hospital respond to the health care needs of its growing community, fostering world-class medical care and wellness services in a convenient, local setting.


Founded in 1969, the Columbia Foundation has awarded over $10 million in grants to Howard County nonprofit organizations delivering human service, arts and cultural, educational and civic programs. Money for the grant programs comes primarily from income generated by the Foundation's endowment supported by over 250 funds established by Howard County businesses, families and individuals.


The Howard County Autism Society, which serves residents of Howard County, Maryland, who are on the autism spectrum, their families, and the community, by providing information, support, and advocacy; by promoting awareness of autism that values the dignity and uniqueness of each individual; and by working to improve the quality of and access to services and to educational opportunities.


FIRN (Resources for the Foreign Born) is a nonprofit organization in Howard County, Maryland that empowers immigrants, refugees, asylees and other foreign-born individuals by helping them to access community resources and opportunities. FIRN provides immigration counseling and citizenship classes, interpreting and translation services, employment counseling, English tutoring, information and referrals, and a variety of workshops.


The Howard Community College Educational Foundation (HCCEF) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation that provides funds for scholarships, grants, cultural and curriculum development, facilities and equipment, and programs and activities that benefit the college.


The James and Anne Robinson Foundation's primary mission is to support the Robinson Nature Center. The Foundation also sponsors a wide range of environmental events and supports initiatives of other environmental, educational, and community groups that share our commitment to connecting people with the outdoors.


The Howard County Arts Council was established to serve the citizens of Howard County by fostering the arts. The Arts Council awards grants and scholarships, provides advancement opportunities for artists and arts organizations, creates an environment for open expression and exchange, encourages people – young and old alike - to discover their own artistic talents, and acts as the primary voice and advocate for the Howard County arts community.


New City Alliance seeks to revitalize the city of Columbia, MD. Together, we can transform Columbia into a vibrant economic center with creative spaces and amenities for families and professionals.


Rep Stage is a professional Equity theatre in residence at Howard Community College celebrating its 18th season in 2010-11. Rep Stage is a member of TCG, League of Washington Theatres and Baltimore Theatre Alliance. Performances are made possible by Howard County Arts Council, Howard County Government, Columbia Foundation, and Maryland State Arts Council, an agency funded by the state of Maryland and National Endowment for the Arts, and generous individual contributions.


The Soccer Association of Columbia/Howard County (SAC HC) is a federally tax-exempt 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit corporation that is dedicated to fostering and encouraging youth participation in amateur soccer.


The Boy Scouts of America is one of the nation's largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations. The BSA provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness. For nearly a century, the BSA has helped build the future leaders of this country by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun.


The Centennial High School Boosters, Inc. is a federally tax-exempt 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit corporation that is dedicated to enhancing, through funding and volunteer support, the extra-curricular activities offered by Centennial High School to encourage student interest and participation in such activities so that each Centennial High School student has the opportunity to enjoy a fulfilling and enriching high school experience.
