Ellen Throop

Ellen Throop has been representing Community Associations for over twenty-three years. Licensed in both Maryland and the District of Columbia, she represents condominiums, homeowners associations, and housing cooperatives.  Ellen guides community associations through all aspects of the operations such as:

  • Community association governance
  • Governing document interpretation and amendment
  • Contract review and negotiation
  • Assessment collections
  • Rules and covenant enforcement
  • Community association litigation in District, Circuit, and Appellate Courts
  • Developer transition

She has served as insurance defense counsel for personal injury cases and community associations

Ellen lives in Anne Arundel County, Maryland with her husband, son, a dog, and two cats.  Ellen is a competitive tennis player, enjoys the warm beaches, animals, cooking, roasting coffee, and crafting on Cricut.
