It is with profound sadness that we share the news that our partner, colleague, and dear friend, Christopher Scott Osborn, passed away on March 10, 2026, at the age of 46 following a hard-fought battle with cancer.
Scott was a cornerstone of our firm. As one of the leaders of our Business Planning & Transactions Practice Group, he brought extraordinary skill, insight, and steady leadership to his work. Scott was a true deal lawyer – strategic, thoughtful, and deeply experienced – guiding clients through complex and nuanced transactions and strategic planning with clarity and sophistication. His business-minded approach and commitment to practical, results-oriented solutions earned him the trust of clients and the respect of peers across the region and within the industry.
Scott was also a highly regarded leader within the professional and business communities he served. He was actively involved in numerous organizations, where he was valued for his judgment, experience, and ability to bring people together around complex business issues. Within our firm, he shared that same expertise and leadership, mentoring colleagues and helping them grow professionally. His influence extended well beyond our firm.
Most importantly, Scott was devoted to his family. He was a loving husband to his wife, Nelly, and a proud and engaged father to Eliza and Rowan. Whether coaching his children’s teams (soccer, wrestling and basketball, to name just a few) or traveling together as a family, Scott spoke often and proudly about the people he loved most. His family was truly at the center of his world.
Scott’s passing is a tremendous loss – not only to our firm, but to our clients and our professional community. As a close-knit team, we are grieving together, reflecting on Scott’s life, and honoring the example he set through his integrity, leadership, and dedication.
Scott’s obituary, including memorial details, is available here.
Please keep Scott’s family and loved ones in your thoughts during this incredibly difficult time. We are grateful for the kindness and support already extended to our firm, and we appreciate your understanding as we navigate this loss together. |
