Lt. Governor Boyd Rutherford, Commerce Secretary Mike Gill, and Howard County Executive Calvin Ball Celebrate Ribbon Cutting with Davis, Agnor, Rapaport & Skalny

Law Firm Expands into Larger Howard County Space

Columbia, MD – Davis, Agnor, Rapaport & Skalny, LLC, welcomed top leaders in business and government as it cut the ribbon at its new offices. Lieutenant Governor, Boyd Rutherford; Maryland Secretary of Commerce, Mike Gill; and Howard County Executive, Calvin Ball joined firm leadership, family, friends, clients, and business leaders at the celebration on September 20. Various photos of the event are available on our website here.

With over a 50% increase in square footage, the firm now occupies the entire 19,000-plus square-foot 6th floor of 70 Corporate Center in Downtown Columbia.

The building sits at the corner of Broken Land Parkway and Little Patuxent Parkway, nestled in the heart of downtown Columbia. The new space features a centralized open-area, café-style gathering spot, six conference rooms, and beautiful sightlines facing all four directions. Merriweather Post Pavilion and great restaurants are just across the street, with many more eateries and cultural destinations within walking distance.

The law firm worked with Baltimore-based Arris Design, on design and architectural services, and with Wilhelm Commercial Builders, on construction of the new offices. The late-July move was precipitated by growth in the number and size of the firm’s clients, by the complexity of its transactions, and the increase in the number of its attorneys and other professional staff.

“We were bursting at the seams with a head count of nearly 40 people”, said Paul Skalny, Managing Director of Davis, Agnor, Rapaport & Skalny. “This expansion accommodates almost 60 people, in line with our current growth trajectory and strategic plan – and we’re doing it with style.” Skalny continued, “The space matches our firm’s personality: it’s contemporary and cutting-edge, professional, but not stuffy. We wanted to ensure that our firm’s culture and core values were reflected in the design of our new space.”

Davis, Agnor, Rapaport & Skalny, LLC joins fellow tenants, Enterprise Community Partners, GP Strategies, and Fulton Bank at the address. The building is owned by the Howard Hughes Corporation. “Davis, Agnor, Rapaport & Skalny is one of the region’s top law firms and a great corporate citizen. We are thrilled they have chosen to grow here in Columbia as we continue transforming Downtown Columbia into the Center of Culture and Commerce for central Maryland,” commented Greg Fitchitt, President of the Columbia Region for Howard Hughes.
