Emily P. Koning Joins Davis, Agnor, Rapaport & Skalny as Attorney

Davis, Agnor, Rapaport & Skalny, LLC is pleased to announce that Emily P. Koning has joined the firm as an attorney in the Family Law Practice Group. Emily brings more than a decade of focused experience representing individuals and families across Maryland, with a practice grounded in empathy, clarity, and a deep understanding of the complexities that accompany family transitions.

“Emily is an exceptional addition to our growing family law practice,” said Paul G. Skalny, Attorney and Managing Director of Davis, Agnor, Rapaport & Skalny, LLC. “Her client-centered approach aligns seamlessly with our commitment to providing thoughtful, strategic counsel. While our firm is rooted in business and transactional law, we regularly see how closely those matters intersect with family law – particularly in more complex, high‑stakes situations involving closely held businesses, financial structures, and long-term planning. Emily’s depth of experience in family law strengthens our ability to advise clients navigating these nuanced and deeply personal transitions.”

Emily’s dedication to family law began early in her legal career. She graduated magna cum laude from Marshall University in 2010 and earned her J.D. cum laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 2013. During law school, she gained hands‑on experience through internships with the Honorable Kendra Y. Ausby in the Family Division of the Circuit Court for Baltimore City and with the Maryland Office of the Public Defender, Child in Need of Assistance Division. As a student attorney in the University’s Family Law Clinic, she represented clients in divorce, custody, and protective order matters. She also served on the University of Baltimore Law Review, sharpening the analytical and writing skills that continue to define her practice.

Following graduation, Emily clerked for a Family Law Magistrate in Baltimore City, an experience that provided invaluable insight into courtroom procedure and the nuances of family law litigation. Since completing her clerkship, she has practiced family law almost exclusively, representing clients across numerous Maryland jurisdictions in matters involving divorce, custody, child support, protective orders, and complex family disputes.

Emily’s approach is rooted in the belief that every client’s situation is unique – and deserves to be treated that way. She prioritizes listening, understanding, and ensuring that clients feel informed and empowered at every step. Her goal is to help individuals make decisions with confidence, clarity, and a strategy tailored to their specific needs and priorities.

Emily resides in Baltimore County with her husband and children. Outside of her practice, she enjoys home improvement projects and spending time with family and friends.
